Feel Free to Berate Me For My Previous Post

Upon re-reading my last post, I ended up like this:

Only, much less dignified. After I let it all out, I seemed to uncover my senses, and was able to give myself the slap in the face (figuratively of course) that I so needed.

Dear Tina,
The next time you decide to whine about all of your hard-earned money going to nothing but tuition, rent, bills, and groceries, think about those who wish they could get the education you're getting, and those who don't even have food to eat or a roof over their head. You wanted a grown-up life, and you got exactly what you asked for. This is what depending on yourself is like, and this is what you moved out here to do. So, either suck it up or move back home to Mommy and Daddy.

Sincerely,
Reality

PS: Welcome to college, the most memorable and financially draining years of your life. It sucks, and you're going to love every minute of it.

  2. Do not feel bad! I am in the SAMEEE boat. It is good to at least let it out and then like you did step back and realize what's going on and how thankful you can be for things. but HANG IN THERE! From one extremely broke college kid to another, I feel the pain.

And I can't believe I go back soon too! Everyone I know goes back in February, I have to go back "early" and we actually have winter (complete with snow and freezing weather). But school will pay off!

  3. It is important to give yourself credit, when it is truly due, and here it is. Sometimes, thinking outside ones self and looking in is the most difficult thing to do. It seems that you have: realized you are relatively happy, in a good place while still acknowledging that you fee alienated from your labors a bit and a product of your stage in life.
I was just reflecting on 12/31 with some friends on how incredibly hard and poor and caffiene driven undergrad was. Although we were still eating and that was obviously a bonus, relatively, it wasn't until now that we could clearly see how awesome it was to struggle in those ways.

    Cheers,
    Ruby

  4. Hey lady,

I've been living on my own for the last year now and definitely only make enough to pay my bills. Sometimes I feel hard on myself about the situation I put myself in by moving out but think of how much responsibility you are learning and how much you will grow from all this. You got this, Tina!

  5. Thank you ladies for being so kind and encouraging. It's nice to know that there are other people out there who have gone through what I'm going through, and still came out to be such marvelous women at the end of it all. :)
